Morale cruise on the Coast Guard Cutter Polar Sea. We sailed out the ice channel and saw Emporer penguins, seals, and Minke Whales.

This was a trip out onto the Ross Ice Shelf to pick up the LDB payload. We flew out by Twin Otter and helped prep the load to be flown back by helicopter.

We tried to fly to Taylor Dome to do some work but the weather was to bad to land. So we did some sight seeing instead.


About 200 Adelie penguins came ashore at by Hut Point.

LDB (Long Duration Balloon) NASA launches these balloons every year to due studies up in the sky.
"Blue Balls" That was the name of this woman's art project. Talk about a waste of tax payer dollars.
